Client Testimonials

Such an awesome deep tissue massage. I've had close to a thousand massages in my life, and Randy's unique style was the best and most effective one yet.  His style, in my opinion, is of energy balancing and finding the core of an achy area...straight to the tendons and muscles causing the pain.  As well, his technique puts one back into alignment. Thank you Randy!

Types of Therapies and Treatments Used

Deep Tissue Massage is a bodywork session that focuses on muscular and postural dysfunction to repair problem areas, increase range of motion, lesson pain and create ease within the body.

Trigger Point or Neuromuscular Therapy involves the deactivation of trigger points, which can be described as hyperirritable spots in muscle that can be felt as nodules or taut bands of muscle fiber. These points may cause local pain or referred pain that can cause sensations in other distant parts of the body. For example, neck muscles with trigger points can create headaches.

Percussion Device Therapy is a technique that use a percussion tool for deep tissue release aided by vibration.

Gua Sha, another traditional therapy I offer, involves using a tool to scrape the skin to improve circulation and alleviate pain. This technique is particularly beneficial for addressing chronic pain conditions and muscle stiffness. Massage hand tools are sometimes used for facial release and cross fiber friction.

Breathwork allows the client to enhance their experience of relaxation, body awareness, pain tolerance and increased tissue oxygenation. Most of us have lost the capacity for full deep breathing, but with coaching and practice we can regain what was once natural to our bodies.

Acupressure is a technique derived from traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. With acupressure, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points by the hand or elbow affecting the chi flow through the body's meridian system.

Myofascial Release Massage is a manual technique for stretching the fascia and releasing bonds between the fascia and muscles with the goal of eliminating pain and increasing range of motion.

Reflexology is a method of applying pressure to the feet and hands for a therapeutic goal. Each reflex point maps to a referral zone related to a body part, gland or organ of the body.  By identifying the problem body area and selecting the appropriate matching reflex point to be worked upon, therapy can be achieved.

Zero balancing is an innovative body/mind system of hands-on therapy that utilizes finger pressure and gentle traction to engage body structure and body energy.  Clients experience deep relaxation, greater internal organization and improved function.

Radix Mind-Body Therapy is for those interested in the body/mind connection, trauma therapy and deep feeling release.  Clients may want to try the Radix process of emotional healing alone or combined with other bodywork services. For more information about Radix Mind-Body Therapy, see the Radix page.

Shockwave Device Therapy uses a sonic wave machine with a handheld device (which resembles a handheld massage gun) to deliver therapeutic waves to the desired body area.  This delivers deep penetrating and healing sound shockwaves to the focal area. For more information about Shockwave Device Therapy, see the Shockwave page.

“Randy is one of the most profound body-workers I have ever met. Having the opportunity to work with him must be regarded as a sacred time: He is truly a bodywork master. I call him Master Usem.”

Bruce Lano,
Co-Founder/Director, American Yoga Foundation

Randy is very excellent at deep tissue massage, as well as kind and caring. His hands seem to just find the trouble spots on my back and he works with it patiently. He has also done amazing fascial release work that reduced some knee pain I was having. Even though he does a great job with the deep tissue, he is careful not to strain my arthritic joints.
